Surveys and Valuations

An independent survey is the only sensible way to get a clear picture of the condition of a property. So that you can make an informed decision when buying a property.

There are two main types of survey undertaken by us:

The Building Survey

This is the most detailed report, and is suitable for all property types, particularly for older and period properties. The survey report is written in plain english and illustrated with numerous photographs. The report can be tailored to incorporate any specific requirements.

RICS Homebuyers Report

This is a less detailed report, ideally suited to properties built within the last 100 years and certain older types.

These reports are written in a set format laid down by our governing body, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and are more generalised and concise. They follow and easy reporting style using a traffic light coding system to illustrate defects.

We undertake residential valuations for inheritance tax, shared ownership, Housing Associations, Charities Act, matrimonial and other purposes.

Valuations are carried out in accordance with the RICS Valuation Professional Standards 2014 ('The Red Book'). Where the particular purpose purpose of the valuation requires a different approach this will be stated in the report.

All of our Surveyors are RICS Registered Valuers.
